The Shack
I've never been much of a reader, but Angie gave me a book to read called "The Shack", by William Young. OMG! I read it in 3 days. I even found myself waking up in the middle of the night to read it. It's a great story and it will blow your mind. There are so many questions I have about some things i read in this book. I find myself asking God questions all the time. It's stirred up my hunger to know Him more. If you get a chance, pick it up and get your tissue ready. I'd love to discuss it with all my friends. Angie and i are driving to Broken Bow Sat. to p/u Amber and Autumn, so we plan to discuss the book. I'm sure it will take the whole trip.

OMG that guy is from Oregon )author anyways) i started that book but couldn't make it through!! im not the best when it comes to finishing books but oh man my eyes were so swolen from tears I had to stop then i never picked it up again- I heard it Wonderful let me know what you think!!
okay i just went back and read you blog fully- 3 days really?
Okay i need to finish it
I love to read, so I just have to ask this question...what is the book about without giving it away! It's got to be good to make you cry.
It's about a guy that spends a weekend with God. His daughter is abducted and you see how God takes him through the healing of his loss. I learned a lot about how much God wants to have relationship with me. And how much he loves me. There are some things that will blow your mind and I'm still chewing on those, but all in all, it's an incredible book! I'm still wondering if it's a true story.....

Im pretty sure it is not! I know some people that went to here him speek. Rumor has it the author wrote the book on a tri met Bus
(Public transportaion) he supposedly heard from God that he need to write this. Wild Huh?
Okay, how hard would it be to write a book on a bus? that's interesting. Here is an author bio I found on him.
Author Bio
William P. Young was born a Canadian and raised among a Stone Age tribe by his missionary parents in the highlands of former New Guinea. He suffered great loss as a child and young adult and now enjoys the "wastefulness of grace" with his family in the Pacific Northwest.
so funny you brought up this book..I just got it in the mail YESTERDAY and a great friend of mine came by and I let her take it home....I also let her borrow WHAT IS SO AMAZING ABOUT GRACE? which I have never read but like Jodie, I am super bad about not finishing books (I love for Christina to just give me Cliff's notes on them!) but I will definitely get the shack back soon and read it! Thanks for lighting my fire girl!
The Shack is not a very long book, which is great for those of us that find it hard to get through one. We all have times in our lives that are a marker, a time where something clicks or changes in our hearts. This book for me will be one of those. I am already reading it again. I have been praying that God would again help me realize His love for me. How much He loves us, how deeply He feels about us and then I got this book. This book was an answer to that prayer, Papa talking to me. It is worth getting through, let it challenge you, it did me in some of my 'religious' thinking.
